Quil came to us from the Ballarat Wildlife Park. Prior to that, she was a resident of Cleland Wildlife Park in South Australia.  Quil was born in 2006 and is our largest bird, who is full of mischief. One of her favourite past times is to play with a bucket of water, tip the water out and splash around in the newly made puddle.  Once, she ran off with our camera and made her own ‘Quil home movie’ (see her at play on our Videos page), which included a lot of shots of the ground, but occasional face shots while she inspected the camera lens…

Wedge-tailed eagles are Australia’s largest bird of prey. They are usually seen soaring majestically high in the air where their impressive wingspan of 2 metres or more leaves a lasting impression.
