Kevy was born in 2004 and has been living with us for most of her life, originally under our Scientific permit. She has been a central part of the educational displays Martin has done at Narmbool Environmental Learning Centre over the years, and we have received many letters from school children, who have written fondly about her. She is our veteran performer, but is also a little nervous about being outdoors. Well, wouldn’t you if you were only just over 20cm tall?
Nankeen Kestrels are Australia’s smallest falcon. They are masters of hovering flight often seen suspended in the wind over paddocks, grasslands or roadsides scanning the ground for mice, lizards or other small prey.
