Project Description
Nellie is a captive bred Nankeen Kestrel hatched in late 2021. She came to us in 2022 and was rather a nervous bird initially, earning her name ‘Nervous Nellie’. However she soon settled in and has become very confident and demanding, especially if she suspects there is a snack on offer! Therefore, she is now known as “Yelly Nellie!”
Kestrels are the masters of hovering flight and are often seen over road verges or grassland, scanning the ground below for small prey.
